Caterina Satta (PhD, University of Padua) is Associate Professor of Sociology at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Cagliari, where she teaches Narrative Methodologies, Methods for Social Research, and Sociology of Generations and Gender Differences. She carries out research in the fields of childhood sociology, family studies, and everyday life. Her main research interests focus on the social construction of childhood from a spatial-temporal perspective, adult and child cultures, generational and gender relationships, with a particular focus on: parenting, care, intimate life, home, consumption, and children's play and sports in urban spaces. She favors qualitative ethnographic methodologies, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and participatory research techniques. In her latest research, she has ethnographically studied the children's fashion world.

She is qualified within the scope of the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for the position of Associate Professor also in the disciplinary areas 14/C2 (Sociology of Cultural and Communication Processes).

She served as Secretary of the Scientific Board of the Everyday Life Section of the Italian Sociological Association (2018-2021) and is a co-founder of the interdisciplinary research group "Tracce Urbane" focused on urban studies. She is also a member of the editorial board of “Sociologica. Italian Journal of Sociology Online” and “AG. International Journal of Gender Studies”.

In addition to several articles and essays, she has published “Bambini e adulti: la nuova sociologia dell'infanzia” (Carocci 2012; 10th edition 2023), “Per sport e per amore. Bambini, genitori e agonismo” (Il Mulino 2016), and co-authored “Sociologia della vita familiare. Soggetti, contesti e nuove prospettive” (Carocci 2020; 2nd edition 2022).

Currently, she is the head of the University of Cagliari's research unit in the PRIN 2022 project "ESCAPES: Experimental Spatial Solutions for the Sustainable Management of Remote Work and Family Care," focusing on the developments of remote work and the new work and family scenarios emerging in, and through, the physical space of the city, office, and home. https://www.escapes.polimi.it](https://www.escapes.polimi.it
