Myosotis Massidda, a former athlete of the National Italian Team of Artistic Gymnastics, obtained with honors a Ph.D. in Exercise and Sport Sciences (Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna) and a Ph.D in Life, Environmental, and Drug Sciences (University of Cagliari).

She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medical Science and Public Health, University of Cagliari, with two National Scientific Habilitations as Associate Professor in Exercise and Sport Science and Anthropology.

She is the Manager of Quality and the Coordinator for Professionalizing Activities in the Sport and Exercise Sciences Degree Courses at the University of Cagliari.

Her main research interests include the influence of DNA on Exercise, Sports Performance, and Muscle Injuries, with a specific focus on football. She won several international scientific prizes, and she collaborates with several International Research Groups all around the world, working on issues related to the genetics of physical performance.
