Roberto Deidda is full professor of Hydrology and Water Engineering at the University of Cagliari (Italy).
He is director of a post-graduate Master programme in Hydraulic Risks and coordinator of the PhD programme in Civil
Engineering and Architecture in the University of Cagliari.

He has been awarded as Fulbright Visiting Professor in MIT, Cambridge (MA, USA), 2009.
His main research interests are: hydrological extremes, multifractal models for precipitation and soil moisture, hydrological models, climate change.

He has authored more than 70 scientific papers in international refereed leading journals and more than 100 papers and contributions in
national journals, and national/international conference proceedings. 

His H index is 30, total citations are more than 2500 (Scopus, as of March 2026).
