ACADEMIC CURRICULUM

Marco Micocci, born in Rome on November 12, 1967, is a Full Professor of Financial and Actuarial Mathematics at the University of Cagliari – Faculty of Economics.  
Previously, from December 1996 to February 2001, he was a Researcher in Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”; he later served as an Associate Professor at the University of Cagliari.  
He holds three degrees: in Economics and Business from the University of Rome "La Sapienza"; in Banking, Finance, and Insurance Sciences from the University of Sannio; and in Statistical and Actuarial Sciences from the University of Rome "La Sapienza." Both his Economics degree and his Statistical and Actuarial Sciences degree were awarded with honors (110/110 cum laude).  
His research activities focus on quantitative models in Mathematical Finance, Insurance and Pension Techniques, with particular emphasis on the actuarial and financial aspects of Pension Funds and Insurance Companies. Recently, he has also been concentrating his studies on integrated risk management for Insurance Companies.  
To date, he is the author of over one hundred scientific and professional publications (articles, working papers, books) in the aforementioned fields.  
Currently, he teaches Financial Mathematics and Mathematical Models for Financial Markets at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cagliari.  
He has taught at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and “Tor Vergata,” and for over twenty years at LUISS Guido Carli; he also lectures in financial and insurance master’s programs.  
He is a member of the Italian Institute of Actuaries (Istituto Italiano degli Attuari), AMASES, ASTIN, and AFIR.  

Prof. Marco Micocci is registered with the Order of Actuaries, the Order of Chartered Accountants, and the Register of Auditors, and practices in these professions. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Institute of Actuaries, Scientific Director of ADEPP (Association of Privatized Social Security Entities, which includes about 3 million members), and General Director of the Pension Fund for Italian Journalists.
