Degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and PhD degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Urbino.
In 2004 she her collaboration with the University of Siena, followed by a non permanent position as Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Plant Biology of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” where she coordinated the National project “Important Plant Areas in Italy”(2006/2008. Objective of the research was to create a network of important areas for plant conservation in Italy (Important Plant Areas). In 2011 she became researcher (permanent position) in Applied and Environmental Botany at the University of Cagliari. In 2019 she was appointed as Associate professor and in 2024 became Full Professor. Since 2011 she actively joined the Italian Botanical Society. She is member of the Scientific Council of the PhD-programme in Earth and environmental sciences and technologies, University of Cagliari. She is the Coordinator of the Degree program in Natural and Environmental Sciences and the Master program in Preservation and management of natural resources and of the environment at the University of Cagliari.

Main research interests: use of floristic and vegetation data to prioritize sites for the conservation of botanical diversity, using a multitaxa approach; landscape scale analyses,
studies on the effects of fragmentation on biodiversity and definition of ecological networks at different scale; planning and assessment of the effect of scale in monitoring actions of restoration ecology; invasive alien species and dissemination of scientific results.
