Corrado Cicalò participates to the research activities of the Nuclear Physics group, of the “Sezione di Cagliari” – INFN – since 1990. He has been involved in several experiments at CERN, Geneva. In particular, CHARM II, focused on neutrino physics, OBELIX, antiproton – proton collision, NA50 and NA60 on heavy ion collisions. He took part in the design and construction of the detectors and in the following data analysis. 

In 1996 he started his collaboration in the ALICE experiment at CERN. He participated in the design, construction and installation of the tracking system of the ALICE muon spectrometer and of the Zero Degree Calorimeter system. He took part in all the data taking and all the activities of the collaboration. 

From 2006 Corrado Cicalò participates to the Extreme Energy Events project, finalized to the study of cosmic rays thru a network of detectors installed in several high schools.

Coordinator of the tracking system of the Muon Arm Spectrometer in ALICE from 2013 to 2021

Coordinator of the project DIMUON-High Level Trigger of the Muon Arm of ALICE

Team leader of the ALICE – Cagliari  group at CERN from 2019

Coordinator in Cagliari of the Extreme Energy Events project since 2015

Corrado Cicalò was coordinator of the Cagliari - Nuclear Physics in the national INFN Committee. He was referee of two experiments in this committee
