Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Ambientale e Architettura
Graduated in Building Engineering–Architecture, he earned a PhD in Structural Engineering with a dissertation focused on the simulation of buildings’ physical performance—an area that continues to represent one of the cornerstones of his scientific work. Over the years, he has held numerous research positions at the DICAAR of the University of Cagliari, and he has been awarded research grants funded by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and by the DICEM of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. He has also collaborated as a research contractor with both DICAAR and the DIEE at the University of Cagliari, developing an interdisciplinary profile that integrates energy, environmental and technological aspects of the built environment.
Between 2014 and 2016, he served as Adjunct Lecturer in Energy Engineering within the Master’s Degree Program in Energy Engineering at the University of Cagliari, initiating a teaching trajectory that has since expanded to include international academic experiences. He is currently co-lecturer of the course Environmental Control in Historic Architecture, lecturer of the course Thermotechnical Systems, and lecturer of the course BIM-MEP for Energy Systems. He also carries out extensive professional training throughout Italy for professional Orders and Colleges, focusing on topics such as energy efficiency, building and environmental acoustics, sustainable materials, and Building Information Modeling applied to building lifecycle management.
His scientific production includes more than seventy publications in journals and conference proceedings, with particular emphasis on building energy efficiency, sustainable materials, architectural and environmental acoustics. He has supervised numerous master’s theses as advisor, co-advisor, and reviewer, contributing to the education of new generations of professionals in the fields of energy, environment, and digitalization of the built environment.
At the international level, he has taught at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in Lithuania during the academic years 2023–2024 and 2024–2025, delivering the course Energy Efficiency of Buildings and Acoustic Performance. In the academic year 2024–2025, he also taught at Poznan University of Technology in Poland, offering the course Acoustic Problems and Building Information Modeling: A Modern Methodology for Design and Performance Assessment in New and Existing Buildings. These experiences highlight the international dimension of his academic activity and his ability to engage in contemporary European debates on building quality, digitalization, and strategies for energy and environmental sustainability.
