Architect and PhD (IUAV), he is full professor of architectural and urban design at the DICAAR of the University of Cagliari, where he directs the ecourbanlab research laboratory. Member of the board of the Doctoral School in Architecture and Environment at DADU UNISS.

During his research activities, he has built up a network of relationships with international working groups, teaching design seminars and international master's courses at prestigious foreign universities such as ETH Zurich, the Academy of Mendrisio, Mackenzie University in São Paulo, FAU Lisbon, UIC Barcelona, ESARQ Mexico City, and the Federal University of Alagoas in Rio de Janeiro.

As a partner and designer at Studio Professionisti Associati s.r.l., he has successfully participated in national and international design competitions, winning on numerous occasions.

Editor of the book series ‘Sustainable and Affordable Housing’ and ‘Innovative Learning Spaces’, member of various editorial and scientific committees, his projects, essays and articles have been published in various national and international magazines and exhibited at the Milan Triennale and the Venice Biennale.

His intense publishing activity (with over a hundred recognised scientific publications) has led him to explore specific topics through the analysis of the work carried out by some important figures in the world of architecture through monographs, essays and articles published in various international magazines such as: AREA, Casabella, Domus, d'Architettura, Interni, Monograph.it, L'industria delle costruzioni, Esporre, Paysage, Parametro.

He carries out research within DICAAR with the ecourbanlab laboratory - https://www.ecourbanlab.it/, which he founded at DADU, favouring an interdisciplinary approach developed through a dense network of collaborations with prestigious national and international institutions, which have enabled the numerous projects he has been responsible for to achieve recognised scientific results.
