Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Ambientale e Architettura

Graduated in Building Engineering and Architecture, with a PhD in Building Engineering and a Second-Level Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, she conducts research and teaching activities at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering (DICAAR) of the University of Cagliari.

Her scientific activity lies within the field of appraisal and evaluation applied to urban transformations, with a specific focus on the role of analytical tools in decision-making processes, particularly in relation to the definition of strategies and policies for sustainable development.

Her research focuses on the development of methods and tools for the evaluation of project and planning scenarios, with particular reference to multi-criteria approaches. In this context, she contributes to the construction of decision-support models aimed at making the economic, environmental and social impacts of alternative interventions explicit and comparable, also through action-research activities and collaboration with public institutions. The objective is to enhance the quality and transparency of decision-making processes in contexts characterized by high complexity and conflict.

More recent developments in her research address sustainability assessment at the neighbourhood scale, with particular attention to the operationalization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. In this field, she has contributed to the development of tools for measuring SDGs at the urban micro-scale and to the design of evaluation models for energy communities and proximity-based urban spaces, also within the framework of national and competitive research projects, with results published in international journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production, City, Culture and Society, and International Journal of Urban Sciences.

She is Deputy Director of the Interdepartmental Research Centre on Housing and Real Estate Markets (CAMI), established in 2026 at the University of Cagliari and jointly promoted by the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering (DICAAR), the Department of Economics and Business (DSEA), and the Department of Political and Social Sciences (DSPOL).

Alongside research, she is actively engaged in teaching in courses on Appraisal and Evaluation and Construction Management at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Cagliari, as well as in postgraduate and doctoral programmes, where she is responsible for the course “SDGs as a Support to Decision-Making Processes”. She is also actively involved in the organization of scientific initiatives such as the SIEV Summer School (2024) and the annual “UPhD Green” conference held within the Urbanpromo event.

She participates in interdisciplinary research networks, including the “G-Lab” centre, and is a member of the scientific board of the design and self-construction laboratory “UNICA Space Force”; she also contributes to national working groups on sustainable development within the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS) and the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), with particular reference to Goal 11. She is a member of the Italian Society of Appraisal and Evaluation (SIEV).
