Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Ambientale e Architettura

Graduated in mechanical engineering in 2003 from the University of Naples Federico II, with a thesis on the energy performance of an experimental micro-cogeneration plant for the distributed generation of electricity and heat for civil buildings, he continued his research activity in the university environment, obtaining in 2007 the title of Doctor of Research with a thesis on the "Analysis of the energy performance of prefabricated concrete panels for industrial and tertiary buildings."

Subsequently, he carried out teaching and research activities at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Campania, deepening the topics related to distributed generation and the management of integrated energy systems, with particular reference to plants for the production of electricity and heat for the air conditioning and ventilation of buildings and the production of domestic hot water.

Part of the above activities have been the subject of research studies in the academic field and/or included in strategic development programs in the energy sector, at regional, national, and community levels. He has presented more than 20 national and international publications on the topics of distributed energy generation and energy efficiency.

Since 2012, he has gained significant professional experience with the acquisition of energy management assignments at private and multi-service companies and public entities, as well as consultancy activities for the drafting of Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAP) within the Smart City project coordinated by Sardegna Ricerche, together with actions to involve stakeholders in the Sardinian regional territory on environmental issues. Over the years, he has provided assistance and consultancy to municipalities for the participation and implementation of complex tenders, aimed at energy efficiency and the production of energy from renewable sources.

In addition to the aforementioned experience, the activities concerning the design of plants for the production of electricity and heat powered by renewable sources, the deepening of technologies for the energy efficiency of building structures, and the development of energy modeling of buildings with technical software are added.

Finally, note is made of the various activities related to the energy diagnosis of public and private structures, both civil and industrial, the experience gained regarding the thermo-hygrometric well-being of buildings with the aid of systems for measuring thermophysical and hygrometric quantities, including infrared thermography.

After having carried out teaching activities for public and private training institutions, since 2016 he has been the coordinator of a complex three-year project on the training of professional figures for inclusion in the Regional Repertoire of Qualification Profiles, focused on the theme of "Integrated and Necessary Energy Improvement Systems for Environmental and Energy Recovery" (SEMINARE project), of which he also oversaw the design phase.

He is currently a researcher at the Department of Civil Environmental Engineering and Architecture and a lecturer in "Laboratory of thermal and air conditioning systems" in the professional degree course in "Industrial technologies for energy and digital transition."
