Marco Micheletto received his PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari in 2023, with a dissertation entitled “Fusion of fingerprint presentation attacks detection and matching: a real approach from the LivDet perspective.” He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Cagliari within the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DIEE). Since 2017, he has been a member of the sAIfer Lab Biometrics Unit, focusing on biometric technologies such as fingerprint and face recognition and EEG signals. His research areas also include presentation attack detection (PAD), facial expression analysis for emotional state detection, anomaly detection in crowded environments, and identifying audio and video deepfakes.

He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He serves as a reviewer for several international conferences and journals in the fields of biometrics and information security. He is also a co-organizer of the Fingerprint Liveness Detection Competition (LivDet), a reference competition in the field of biometrics, now in its ninth edition.
