Dr. Francesco Ratto is a non-tenure Assistant Professor (RTDa) at the University of Cagliari. His research mainly focuses on design automation for reconfigurable systems and edge machine learning.

He received his PhD degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari in 2024. He has been visiting student at the TU Dresden and at the University of Maryland, and postdoc researcher at the University of Sassari.


He has carried out his research within many EU-funded research projects, including FitOptiVis, SECURED and IMOCO4E. He is actively doing research within the MYRTUS project (funded by the European Union).

He serves on the Organization Committee of the CPS Summer School and the Artifact Evaluation Committee of the ACM Computing Frontiers conference. He is an active reviewer for many international journals, including IEEE Transactions on VLSI and IEEE Embedded Systems Letters.
