Jing Zhang is postdoctoral researcher (RTD-A) of Electronics in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DIEE) of the University of Cagliari. She received her Ph.D. at the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, a globally recognized research institution renowned for its contributions to advancing the frontiers of chemistry and materials science. She was awarded a Seal of Excellence by the European Commission in 2024 under the Global Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA-GF), and then works on the project "vOECTSens", funded by the Italian Minister of University and Research through the "Young Researchers" call, SoE (Seal of Excellence) line.

Her research work mainly focused on the advanced organic semiconductor functional devices and the physical mechanism of device, including Organic Field Effect Transistor (OFET), Electrolyte-gated Field Effect Transistor (EGOFET), Organic Electrochemical Transistor (OECT), which integrate various disciplines including chemistry, physics, materials science, and biology.

Jing Zhang is the first or co-first author of more than 40 publications, such as Advanced Materials and ACS Materials Letter and the Journal of the American Chemical Society. She is an active member of the Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS) and Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) research community.
