Matteo Anedda received the the M.Sc degree (Summa cum Laude) in Telecommunication Engineering and the Ph.D. in Electronic and Computer Engineering degree from the University of Cagliari in 2012 and 2017, respectively, where he is currently an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Anedda has undertaken several research experiences abroad. In 2010 he has been a visiting Erasmus student with the University of Basque Country, Bilbao (Spain), under supervision of Prof. P. Angueira. For his M.Sc. thesis Dr. Anedda has received an award from the Order of the Engineers of Cagliari (Italy). In 2015 he was a visiting researcher with Dublin City University (Ireland), under the supervision of Prof. G. Muntean, and in 2016 he spent eight months at Universidad de Montevideo (Uruguay), under the supervision of Prof. R. Sotelo. In 2020, he participated in the Young Researcher Mobility (MGR) program conducting research activity at the University of Transylvania, Brasov (Romania), under the supervision of Prof. Vlad Popescu.
His research activities concerning smart mobility, smart cities and IoT, artificial intelligence (AI) and neural networks (NN) for traffic monitoring and classification, AI for IoT, Social IoT (SIoT), edge intelligence, 5G networks, data processing, cloud storage and management, data anonymization according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Moreover, he is founding partner and legal representative of the innovative start-up "Eptatronix SRL" that develops innovative technological solutions (both hardware and software) in ICT, Social IoT and robotics, data storage and management.
Since 2011, he is IEEE member, and he is also a member of the IEEE CTSoc, IEEE ComSoc, and IEEE BTS Society. Since 2023, he is IEEE senior member (SMIEE).
Dr. Anedda has held several IEEE positions:
- vice-chair and chair of IEEE Cagliari Student Branch (CASB),
- treasurer and secretary of IEEE BTS Italy Chapter.
- in 2022 and 2023 he participated in the Organizing Committee Core Group for ICCE BERLIN - IEEE CTSoc as Publication Chair.
- since January 2023 he is
- chair of IEEE BTS Italy Chapter,
- secretary for IEEE CTSoc SMC TC.
Dr. Anedda is author of more than 50 publications in international journals and proceedings of international conferences.
