Abstract

This paper introduces the topic of the complementary health insurance cover, considered by the standpoint of the products thereof. First, the relationship between complementary health insurance and essential level of assistance is presented. Then, the paper analyses the statutory provisions establishing complementary health insurance, focusing on the products issued by specialized funds. Eventually, some final remarks are set out, with the purpose of highlighting the need for a comprehensive regulatory framework.
