Abstract

The contribution concerns the ILO Convention n. 159 of 1 June 1983 on the professional reintegration and employment of disabled people, in which the Author examines the content of the same in and of itself, and then focuses on its interrelation with the UN Convention on Disabled People of 13 December 2006. Furthermore, a certain space is reserved for the impact of the ILO Convention on the Euro-unitary legislation on the employment of disabled people, on the level of anti-discrimination protection and on that of the adaptation of the working environment to the conditions of the disabled person and on the Italian legislation on access to work for disabled people. Finally, we focus on the impact of the same ILO Convention on the notion of mentally disabled person and on the legislation regarding the supervening incapacity of night workers in Italian labor law.
