Abstract

The article provides an example of an audio-visual analysis using audio and video recordings and photographs I took during a religious ritual in Caribbean religious culture. The various documents collected are used in their double function as data to be analysed and as supports for the presentation of the research. The analysis focuses in particular on the Cajón pa' los muertos (Cajon for the dead), a ritual attributable to the Espiritismo cruzado developed in Cuba in the 19th century.
