Abstract

This paper, which represents the first part of a research in progress, gives synoptically – with limitation to the lexical component – of the text of the handwritten testimonies (all of the 15th century) of Gasparino Barzizza’s Vocabularium breve, a well-known late medieval etymological vocabulary of Latin whose entries, methodically ordered, are systematically glossed with a vernacular idiom.
