Abstract
The essay is part of a volume that intends to offer an overview of the situation on the ways of doing film history in Italy today and is dedicated to the screenplay. The first part focuses on the methodological issues raised by the debate that has arisen in Italy and abroad around the screenplay. The second part examines the laborious genesis of the film Il bell'Antonio, directed in 1960 by Mauro Bolognini and based on the novel by Vitaliano Brancati, through different drafts of the screenplay in which Pier Paolo Pasolini also collaborated.Items in DSpace are protected by copyright, with all rights reserved, unless otherwise indicated.
