Una fonte biblica per il carme 88 di Eugenio di Toledo?
Donato De Gianni
2018-01-01
Abstract
Eugenius of Toledo’s poem 88 is a short composition of only two verses. It belongs to the group of proverbial texts, one of the many literary micro-genres handled by the poet in Libellus carminum. In his recent edition (CCh 114, Turnhout, 2005), P. Farmhouse Alberto, who elsewhere records both poetic and prose models (classical and patristic) used by Eugenius, does not indicate any source for this piece. In this article we provide a commentary of the distich and we try to demonstrate that a biblical locus (Proverbs 26.17) is the possible source for the 2nd line.| File | Size | Format | |
