Ipotesi di diocesi rurali nella Sardegna bizantina
Rossana Martorelli
2023-01-01
Abstract
The contribution examines the problem of the possible existence of rural dioceses in Sardinia in the period of Byzantine domination (6th-10th centuries), before the ecclesiastical reorganisation carried out by the Judikes in the 11th century increased the number of territorial circumscriptions, establishing new seats even in relation to small villages. The existence of places of worship, e.g. in Cornus/Columbaris and Dolianova, or the need for particular territories such as the Barbagie, re-propose the question, which deserves further investigation, also in the light of new archaeological discoveries.| File | Size | Format | |
