Abstract

This study examines the role of phraseology, particularly collocational phraseology, in the semantic organization of the lexicon of the Dictionnaire françois by Pierre Richelet, published in 1680. Its aim is to demonstrate that there is a direct relationship between the collocational information, located at the end of each lexicographical article, and the material presentation of the definitional field. The latter is ensured by the integration of the usage definition alongside the semantic definition. This work falls within the domain of historical metaphraseography, based on the theoretical and descriptive principles of historical metalexicography.
