Abstract

The dignity constitutes a limit to private economic activity in the article 41 of the Italian Constitution. In this essay we will propose a way of interpreting this limit, based on Jeremy Waldron’s approach to dignity as status. In essence, this understanding would entail the obligation on the part of the legislator to establish a system of industrial democracy in Italian labour law.
