Abstract

The re-examination of the figure of Dionigi Scano, in the dual dimension of the professional and the scholar, still offers interesting ideas for analysis today. In particular, it may be useful to focus attention on the methods adopted by Scano to describe the Middle Ages, in his writings and in his drawings. In this contribution we intend to offer some elements of reflection in terms of vocabulary and methodologies adopted, starting from the volume ‘History of Art in Sardinia from XI to XIV Century of 1907, and then concludes with some of the drawings that the engineer himself created between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
