Abstract
This contribution offers a linguistic analysis of the features that characterize the spelling, phonetics and morphology of the MS Roma, CISC, 1, : its primary objective is to locate the area where the codex was set up, to study its linguistic stratigraphy and to reconstruct the copyist’s writing habits. The MS Roma, CISC, 1 is an important codex that transmits the Dialogo della divina provvidenza or Libro della divina dottrina by Caterina of Siena. It concerns an unpublished manuscript, in vernacular, which is part of the complex and branched stratification of the witnesses that constitute the tradition of the work, unanimously considered a masterpiece of medieval mysticism, which earned the saint of Fontebranda the title of Doctor of the Church.| File | Size | Format | |
