Abstract

The contribution offers a synthesis of the panorama of retables in Sardinia in the 16th and 17th centuries. Specifically, it highlights the timing and methods of change in forms, both in carpentry and in representation, which in the period in question pass from the late Gothic language to the classicist one (Renaissance and Mannerist) and then from this to the Baroque one.
