Pacchioni, Antonio (1665–1726): Italian anatomist and physician born in Reggio Emilia and working in Rome (Fig. P1a). Reference: Dissertatio epistolaris ad Lucam Schroekium de glanduli conglobatis durae meningis humanae, indeque ortis lymphaticis ad piam matrem productis. Buagni, Rome, 1705. Bodies or Granules of Pacchioni:Eponym for the arachnoid granulations in the superior sagittal sinus (Fig. P1b). Foramen of Pacchioni:Eponym for (a) the tentorial notch, and (b) the foramen of the diaphragma sellae. Foveolae of Pacchioni:Eponym for the granular foveolae, small depressions of the inner side of the frontal and parietal bones, which give shelter to the arachnoid granulations
