Abstract

A versatile and platform tolerant RFID tag, easily adjustable within the UHF RFID frequency band, is presented. The proposed RFID tag features a compact Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) structure, strategically integrated as a shielding element for an ungrounded tag antenna. This innovative design allows for convenient mounting on materials with low permittivity, metal objects, or attachment to the human body for wearable applications, achieving a read range up to 11 meters. The tag design emphasizes simplicity in manufacturing, facilitating cost-effective production processes. CST Microwave Studio, a comprehensive software specifically designed for analyzing 3D electromagnetic structures, has been used in antenna design.
