The project “Political-Sociological Geolocation to Navigate the University World. From School to University: Choosing to Experience” includes three types of actions:
- the implementation of orientation activities in high schools which, in line with the provisions of the CRUI Orientation Group, must be addressed to students who have already obtained certification for completing the 15-hour PNRR courses;
- the recruitment of tutors;
- training activities for secondary school teachers.
Regarding the first area, the Department of Political Sciences has designed and implemented university orientation pathways aimed at integrating and/or expanding upon the orientation courses promoted by the University Orientation Centers. These activities are developed in collaboration with schools and local stakeholders.
The main objective of this initiative is twofold: on one hand, to share and strengthen incoming orientation initiatives to support students in making informed choices about their future academic paths; on the other hand, to identify best practices among network partners to promote careers related to the roles of political and social scientists.
Below are the courses offered:
| Lecturer | Course Title |
|---|---|
| Stefano Rombi | Institutions and Elections in Democratic Regimes |
| Valentina Cuzzocrea | Youth and Everyday Life: A Sociological Perspective on Generations |
| Caterina Satta | Youth and Everyday Life: A Sociological Perspective on Generations |
| Francesca Congiu | China: The History of a Rising Great Power |
| Nicola Melis | Islam, Islamisms, and Islamophobia |
With regard to tutoring, three tutors have been recruited for 50 hours each, assigned respectively to the subjects of Political Economy, History of Political Doctrines, and Statistics.
Lastly, training courses were organized for high school teachers in Sardinia. These sessions were promoted by the Interuniversity Center for Didactic Research and coordinated, within the framework of the POT program, by Professor Isabella Sulis.
