Abstract

The Engineering library of Cagliari University was inaugurated in April, 2016. It merges a central library and 8 branches into one.The aim was to convert an unused garage into a tidy and charming library.The achievement of this arduous sustainability project was due to the greatest accuracy and precision of the architectural plan developed together with librarianship plan, since the spaces suffered of many architectural difficulties.The result is a library easy to use for patrons and librarians, attractive and a place where to study and socialize, thanks to the stylistic choices in materials, interior decoration, signage and furniture.
