Abstract

The essay examines the use of the relationship between word and image in three productions by Alina Marazzi: Un’ora sola ti vorrei (2002), Vogliamo anche le rose (2007), Confini (2014). In today’s study of the relationship between literature and cinema, the questioning of the hegemonic role of the literary work has led to new critical readings of adaptations and contemporary transmedia works. This study investigates the non-hierarchical relationship between verbal and visual production adopted by Marazzi, particularly examining how, with the found footage technique, the director uses editing to create an original contrast and tension between text and image. The reuse of pre-existing materials this takes on new meanings, and the work opens up to new narrative functions.
