Abstract
The Libellus Judicum Turritanorum is the only chronicle of the Sardinian Middle Ages that has come down to us. Written in Logudorese Sardinian by an anonymous author after the second half of the 13th century, it narrates the history of the judges of Torres starting from the first judge, Andrea Tanca, never mentioned in the historical sources, up to 1259, the year of the death of the giudicessa Adelasia, the last heir to the giudicato of Torres. The drafting of which the critical edition is provided here has come down to us almost in its entirety through a later Spanish-era remake, transcribed from a manuscript entitled "Fondagues de Sardina", written by a Piedmontese archivist presumably in the 18th century and kept in the Turin State Archives. The critical edition of the text, with translation on the facing page, is accompanied by a glossary and an onomastic and toponymic index.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
