Abstract

Reducing the construction sector’s environmental impact is globally crucial. Climate change drives the development of eco-friendly materials and construction methods. The SARCOS project is dedicated to incorporating recycled aggregates into steel-concrete composite slabs, thereby amplifying sustainability and structural efficacy. This paper introduces and deliberates different numerical models conceived within the SARCOS project framework. These models have been meticulously calibrated through experimental trials conducted on slabs with varying percentage of recycled concrete. Notably, a comprehensive examination of one approach to simulate steel-concrete cohesion at the interface, pivotal in dictating the overall behavior, is provided.
