Abstract
The anonymous Carmen adversus Marcionitas (written presumably not before the second quarter of the fifth century), is a didactic poem in five books in which the poet refutes Marcionistic dualism through a series of argumentative techniques. It was first published in 1564 by Georg Fabricius on the basis of a now-lost manuscript. The constitutio textus is often problematic, as the catalog of the bishops of Rome at the end of the third book shows (3,272-302). This paper aims to provide a critical and exegetical commentary on this section of the poem.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
