Abstract

The paper examines the characteristics of catastrophic damages from the specific point of view of their insura- bility. Considering the instruments of coverage and management of catastrophic risk and, in particular, the so-called parametric policies, the contribution also illustrates the model of obligatory insurance against natural disasters recently introduced by the legislator, recalling, finally, the peculiarities of risk coverage models in the agricultural sector.
