Abstract

This chapter puts forward some theorical and methodological insights for investigating the music documentary genre, with a particular emphasis on the Sardinian context over the past two decades. Through three case studies, namely Gianfranco Cabiddu’s Berchidda Live, Enrico Bellu’s Born of Stone and Andrea Mura’s Sonus, its demonstrates how music and sound are situated within the general context of music documentary and contribute to the shaping of its meaning and form.
