Abstract
This volume takes scholars and history enthusiasts on a journey to the heart of early 15th-century Tuscan Romagna, a borderland that had just entered Florence's political sphere of influence. Through a detailed analysis of several notarial protocols drawn up in Modigliana, a social and economic microcosm is reconstructed, where daily life, family strategies, trade, and religiosity intertwine in a changing Apennine landscape. Among houses and shops, farms and mills, castle churches and rural parishes, the protagonists of a lively community emerge, divided between local traditions linked to the past lordship of the Guidi counts and the new Florentine models of public administration and management of productive activities. Combining philological rigor with narrative clarity, the author offers an unprecedented fresco of a rural and artisan frontier society.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
