Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

Francesco Demontis was born in Carbonia on March 31, 1976. He got his Ph.D. Degree in Mathematics on February 19, 2007 from the University of Cagliari. He had a research contract from 03/09/07 to 03/03/08 (six months) in the context of the project “Metodi Numerici per l’algebra lineare e le applicazioni” and a research scolarship for young researcher from January 2010 to January 2012. He has been researcher in Mathematical Physics at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Cagliari, since December 2011. He has authored/coauthored 1 book, 28 papers published in national and international journals and 8 publications in proceedings of international conferences. At present, his main research interests regard the nonlinear evolution equation in the context of the Inverse Scattering Transform. In particular, his research actvity concerns: the development of time dependent scattering theory, the Nonlinear Schroedinger equation (NLS) with nonvanishing boundary conditions and the hierarchies of nonlinear evolution equations. He is a member of GNFM (Gruppo Nazionale per la Fisica Matematica) since 2004.
