Abstract

The Western Inscription and the Eastern Inscription are two important texts that have followed distinct trajectories in the history of Chi-nese thought. While the former gained significant recognition shortly after its author’s death, the latter was almost forgotten until its rediscovery during the Ming dynasty. Nevertheless, both texts must be understood as complementary parts of a single path toward wisdom. In this collaboration, I present the complete Spanish translation of these two brief yet profound works, which encapsulate some of the key metaphysical and ethical principles of Zhang Zai’s philosophical system
