Maurizio Nicola D'Alterio was born in Cagliari (Italy) on 3rd August 1984. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2012 at the University of Cagliari cum laude, specialized in gynaecology and obstetrics with honours in 2018 at the same University. He is an advisor and reviewer of prestigious national and international research institutes.

His main clinical and research interests are endometriosis, uterine fibroids, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, minimally invasive surgery,  and gynecological endocrinology.

Principal investigator and co-investigator in several national and international research projects, many of them funded by prestigious research institutes and universities after rigorous peer review, he is the author of more than 100 papers published in PubMed-indexed international peer-reviewed journals and of several monographs and chapters of international treaties.

He is currently an associate editor of high-impact journals, including BMC women’s health, International Journal of Endocrinology PLOS One, Rater for McMaster PLUS and many others.
