Abstract

The concept of “monstrous”and the taxonomic processes that contribute to define its scope in a primarly symbolic perspective are difficult dynamics, which constantly change through time as regards the changing of the social and the cultural structures. This paper aims to suggest some preliminary consideration as for the inner working that mark out monstrumdefinition in the classical period.
