Abstract
In this article, I reflect on the New Italians (the so-called “second generation” of immigrants in Italy) and the ways in which they react to subalternity and marginalization conditions in the public space through the use of the TikTok social network. To do this, I will deal with the notions of subalternity and social network ethnography from a methodological point of view. These notions will provide a framework for analyzing some audio-visual productions made by New Italians. In the end, I will try to answer the following question: how do New Italians use Tiktok to reshape their position in the Italian public space and, at the same time, produce a Transcultural communication space? Keywords: New Italians, migration, social network ethnography, TikTok.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
