Before downloading an e-book protected by Adobe DRM, you must:

 create an Adobe ID account via the page https://accounts.adobe.com/ (information on how to recover or reset your password can be found here https://helpx.adobe.com/it/manage-account/using/change-or-reset-password.html)
 if using a computer, download the Adobe Digital Editions software (https://www.adobe.com/it/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html)
authorise the programme (by selecting ‘Authorise Computer’ from the Help menu in Adobe Digital Editions) and your reading devices (see ‘Settings’) using your Adobe ID
You can also use tablets for reading by installing dedicated apps such as Bluefire or Aldiko, for example, which can be authorised with your Adobe ID.

These preliminary steps are only required the first time. If they are not carried out, you will be able to read the downloaded e-book ONLY on the device used at the time of download and not on others (e.g. e-readers, tablets, home PCs).

When you download an Adobe DRM-protected ebook, the platform will display a screen asking you to open or save an acsm.file (Adobe Content Server Message), which is the file extension for Adobe DRM-protected files. This file can be saved or opened directly using your own version (previously authorised with your ID) of Adobe Digital Editions or, if you are using a tablet, with your reading app (which must also be authorised with your Adobe ID).

This file has a short expiry period and must be used within a few hours of downloading. If it is not opened immediately, you may therefore need to download it again.

The EBSCO Academic Collection is a collection of over 200,000 e-books offering a wide selection of titles across various academic disciplines, tailored to academic needs and published by leading academic publishers and university presses. 

Access to e-books is available from fixed and mobile devices connected to the University network or from home, by entering your Esse3 (students) or U-Gov (lecturers, researchers, TAB staff) credentials.

You can read the book online or download it in PDF or ePub format (where available) and read it on your authorised device with an Adobe ID for 14 days.

MLOL è una piattaforma che contiene una ampia collezione di ebook e risorse digitali, in particolare testi della didattica selezionati dallo SBA. E' disponibile anche una collezione "open" che raccoglie opere non soggette a copyright e scaricabili in modo illimitato e senza scadenza, tra cui classici, letteratura e saggistica.

E' possibile prendere in prestito fino a 3 titoli al mese per 14 giorni ciascuno, passati i quali il prestito scadrà e il libro non sarà più accessibile. Per la maggior parte dei titoli la formula prevista è "1 copia/1 utente", questo significa che se il titolo di interesse risulta non disponibile, si dovrà attendere per poterlo prendere in prestito. E' comunque possibile prenotarlo ed essere avvisati quando sarà disponibile.

L'accesso alla piattaforma è possibile sia da device connessi alla rete di Ateneo sia da casa, autenticandosi con le credenziali di Esse3 (studenti) o U-Gov (personale docente, ricercatore, TAB)

All'interno della piattaforma Proquest sono presenti oltre 30 mila titoli. L'accesso è consentito da device fissi e mobili connessi alla rete di Ateneo o da casa, inserendo le credenziali di Esse3 (studenti) o U-Gov (docenti, ricercatori, personale TAB) al momento dell'accesso. La maggior parte dei titoli è accessibile a un numero illimitato di utenti in contemporanea.

È possibile leggere il libro online oppure scaricarlo e leggerlo sul proprio device (autorizzato con ID Adobe) per una durata variabile, scelta dall'utente al momento del download. È inoltre possibile stampare fino al 40% del testo e copiare fino al 20%, salvo disposizioni diverse dell'editore. Per ogni titolo vengono fornite informazioni dettagliate sui permessi disponibili. La porzione di testo salvata ha una durata temporale illimitata; ogni capitolo scaricato in PDF concorre al raggiungimento della soglia massima indicata.
