Regulations governing the loan of laptops, tablets and graphics tablets
The libraries provide registered internal users with laptops and/or tablets and/or graphics tablets for use exclusively for study and research purposes.
Eligibility: registered internal library users
Loan period and opening hours: devices may be borrowed during the library’s opening hours. Devices must be returned no later than fifteen minutes before the library closes.
Loan procedure: upon request, the internal user must present a form of identification (student ID card, identity card, driving licence) and will receive confirmation of the loan. The loan is renewable provided no further requests have been received from other internal users. Any hardware or software malfunctions encountered by the internal user must be reported promptly to library staff. Upon return, the device will be checked and only then will the internal user receive confirmation of the return.
Terms of use: it is permitted
- to use laptops, tablets and graphics tablets within the Campus;
- to use only the software already installed and/or to expressly request library staff to install any necessary software that is not yet present;
- to save your data to the hard drive, remembering to transfer it to a personal storage device and to delete it before returning the device. Once the device has been returned, the library is not responsible for any loss of personal files.
Loss, theft, damage and malfunctions:
- the internal user is personally responsible for any theft, loss or damage to the device;
- in the event of damage, library staff will determine whether the damage is due to improper use, a malfunction or simple wear and tear. If repairs are required due to improper use, the internal user will be charged the corresponding amount;
- the internal user is not liable for malfunctions or damage caused by wear and tear.
Liability: the library accepts no liability for any damage incurred by the internal user or others (e.g. loss of data, damage to their own storage devices, disclosure of personal data, passwords, ATM codes and other information) arising from use, whether proper or improper.
Sanctions: Any member of staff found to have breached these regulations will be temporarily or permanently barred from accessing library services, in accordance with University regulations and the relevant legislation in force.
